Individual scholarship awards are $1,000 for a full-time student and $500 for a part-time student. Though an applicants financial need is considered as part of the selection process, theres an essay question as well. The student may be of any age and attend either a two-year or four-year college as an undergraduate. Depending on funds, a total of $5,000 in new scholarships may be available each year and may be renewed annually up to an aggregate total of $4,000 per student.

New applications will be accepted from January 15 to May 15. Renewal applications will be accepted from May 15 to June 16.

To assure fairness in the ranking of the applicants, the BJO chose College Foundation, Inc. (CFI) to review all applications. CFI is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to helping students achieve their college goals through information and financial aid.
