How many of you have SM only (and not CM)? Idiopathic, traumatic, or....? (Finally fixed poll!) :D

Oops. Apparently I don't know how to create a poll. I didn't see any additional options for doing so. (Sigh) Sorry. I'll keep looking, but I'm still not seeing anything. Thanks for the heads-up, Janice.

Edited: YAY! I figured it out. ;)

Hi Folks...

Well, it seems (of course, nothing is ever EASY with me).... that I have a host of other issues aside from SM, so it looks like my SM is just the tip of the iceberg....

It is under investigation if I have cranial instability, tethered cord and fibromyalgia. Gee, could life get any better? I mean REALLY? HA.... Dr. B thinks my SM is either related to trauma or possible tethered cord. Oh yea, don't forget my brain is droopy 3 mm from where it should be but not specifically classified as Chiari (at least not directly to me in my consultation), only that my brain was resting further down than normal.

Why can't life be simple? I have spent my entire life being healthy, exercising and trying to live to 150 (that is my goal).... however it looks like my body has other ideas. It has become my experience that what ever it is you LOVE to do will get ripped away from you some how... (I have seen it not only with myself, but with my animals and others)....

Se La Vie.
Syringomyelia entire spinal cord including throughout conus, Chiari ? Hemangioma T2, Multiple Tarlov cysts; Empty sella & degenerative disc disease entire spine.. severe Fibromyalgia (central cord hypersensitivity).

I have what they believe to be an idiopathic SM from my T2-T12 and I don't know the width, but was told it was extremely large, largest they had ever seen...I am afraid to ask what is extremely large, largest they had ever seen....it is definitely too large....

My SM has no obvious cause. My MRI showed unexpected atrophy for a 27-yr-old, so there is some extra room in my skull, not crowding! The NS and NL I have seen both kept asking me if I have done lots of drugs (I have not). The NS thinks I was born with the syrinx. I think that is a cop-out answer.
