Lucas is scheduled for surgery March 9 at Seattle Children's Hospital. It's hard to believe in October we were sure the MRI was going to be okay.

Thank you for the cute little beanie baby and card. Owen really loves his new little beaver!! He wants to bring it to the hospital next week. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Our Son Barley Paras is having tethered cord surgery with Doctor Timothy Mapstone at OU Childrens Hospital in OKC, Ok. The surgery is scheduled for June 2nd, 2010. We are so very nervous! He also has been diagnosed w/ Arnold Chiari.

My seven year old son Matthew will have decompression surgery in July. My husband had the same surgery 2 years ago. I need suggestions on how to explain what is going to happen. Anything you should tell them or not tell them? Thanks for any advice.

I never thanked you for Michael's beanie baby and card. He received his about 2 weeks prior to surgery and took it everywhere with him for those two weeks, took it to the hospital, and kept it with him during his whole recovery. It now sits proudly on his bed with all of his cherished stuffed friends. I cannot tell you how much it meant to him to receive something from another chiari kid. He is 11 years old and really understood that the child who sent it to him has experienced what he was going through and that meant everything to him.

I can't thank you enough!
