Shunt Restrictions

Postby TwinsX2 » Mon Mar 15, 2010 6:49 am

My son was decompressed in 7/2007. He had syrinxes then that we've just been watching slowly grow. Now he is having some neurological issues (tingling in hands, feet) we believe to be caused by the syrinxes (or potentially the Chiari again). He will have an MRI tomorrow (and hopefully his nsg appt if we can physically make it there before the nsg office closes).

My question is, for children with shunts/drains for syrinxes are there restrictions for activities?

Thanks
Stephanie

Our son Aiden just had a shunt placed in FEB. He is going to be 4 this month. The Dr. has said there is no restrictions at all. So far so good. We get another scan in June. Good Luck!
