Playing football with Chiari I

Postby passmass » Tue Apr 19, 2016 12:15 am

I have a friend who's son was just diagnosed with CMI. He was having the bad headaches. That is how it was found.
He is in the 11 th grade in High School. He is the #1 player on the football team.
He has stopped lifting weights and practicing football.
His NS has told them that he can have the decompression surgery, about a 45 min surgery.
Over the next few months he can slowly get back into football. His headaches have quit since he has stopped weights and practice.
His Mother is wondering if he could play without having surgery. He does not want to miss his Senior Year playing football.
I told her I WOULD NOT PLAY FOOTBALL OR LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS RIGHT KNOW.
WHAT IS YOUR OPINIONS?????
Thanks Passmass

Hi,
I am having the same opinion as you do.
I know there has been a topic on this, a father was talking about his son who played either football or ice hockey. I don't know his name. There was quite a discussion whether he should do this or not.
