the previous message is a snapshot of guest on the message board on June 30. Robots are constantly scanning community sites looking for places to broadcast their advertisements. If you have been on this forum for several years you may remember a time when this happened on our site. It probably does not make sense to some of you but I know people wonder why they cannot register so I posted this as an explanation. Sorry for the confusion this may have caused.

Sincerely,

Patricia

Suggestion & info.

Yes, but bots from Yahoo, Goggle, & other search engines also comes to all forms on the internet scanning it, & they use this information they pick up so that people can use their search engines & find what they’re looking for.

If they were blocked & they could not scan ASAP’s forum those who search for Chiari Malformation or syringomyelia might not be able to find ASAP. It would be much more difficult for them to find ASAP

So all bots are not our enemies, many of them are our friends for through search engines those on the internet finds forms such as ASAP & others.

I just did search forChiari Malformation or syringomyelia on Yahoo & the first one on the list was ASAP, & that is VERY helpful for ASAP being the 1st one on the list. If the bots were blocked off from searching ASAP, ASAP would not be 1st on the list, they would be way down at the bottom are they might not even be on the list.

Usually the spammers will join a forum only to post spam trying to sell their goods. For them its not about Chiari Malformation or syringomyelia!

And if a forum is difficult to join some times a person will rush off & join another forum about Chiari Malformation or syringomyelia & forget about this one.

Forms that I owned, & or been a moderator, I always make it so they can join, only that I have to approve their membership before they can post, that will usually deter the spammers, yet some will still get through, & the thing to do with them is, just a ban them, & not make the forum difficult to join.
May the Lord Bless,
Jerry
