Dr. Iskandar Dr. Iskandar
Our host this year is Dr. Bermans J. Iskandar, Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and the American Family Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Iskandar started his college studies at the American University of Beirut, where he majored in Biology. Dr. Iskandar received his college degree in Cell and Molecular Biology in 1985 from the California State University in Northridge and his medical degree in 1989 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.  He completed his neurosurgery residency at the Duke University Medical Center in 1996.  He followed his residency with a Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Children’s Hospital Birmingham, Alabama. In 1997, he became an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin and in 2003 an Associate Professor.

Hotel room rate:   $115 plus 14.5% room tax. Reservations for the event will be made by individual attendees directly with Sheraton reservations at 1-800-325-3535 or 608-251-2300. Let them know you are attending the ASAP conference to receive this rate, which will be extended three days before and three days after the conference.

Conference registration fees: Includes all morning and afternoon sessions, welcoming reception, three continental breakfasts, and the Saturday evening banquet.

Refunds and late registration: Refunds will only be given until July 1 minus a $25.00 handling fee.  After July 1 individuals will be able to register at the conference but cost will be $185 adult, child $85

Conference Scholarship:  The Board of Directors and conference committee are pleased to announce that we are once again offering a conference scholarship program this year. The scholarship helps defray some of the attendee’s hotel cost in addition to waiving the registration fee for qualified applicants. A limited number of these scholarships are available and will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis to qualified applicants. If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, you should contact the ASAP office to request the guidelines and application.  

The scholarship fund is supplemented by donations from our membership.  You can make it possible for those with limited incomes to attend this educational event and learn more about these disorders. To make a donation to the scholarship fund on-line click here.
