2009 Volunteer Awards

Barbara White Award

ASAP’s most prestigious award.  It is given in recognition of outstanding contributions to further the efforts of our co-founder Barbara White.  Recipients demonstrate long-term commitment to the cause by being active in many areas of the organization. The 2009 recipient is:


Ulrich Batzdorf, MD

Involved with the organization since its beginning, he has hosted two conferences and participated in many.  A true pioneer in the advancement of SM and CM in the medical community his efforts to promote education among the medical community are exemplary.  A founding member of the Medical Advisory Board, he served until 2008.  His accomplishments on behalf of the SM/CM community are too numerous to list.

 

Key Volunteer Award

This award is given to the volunteer in recognition of exceptional service and contributions.  These volunteers play a vital role in helping ASAP open new doors!


Holly Patterson

One of ASAP's earliest members of the Kids For A Cure Club, Holly has organized multiple fundraisers, promoted community awareness through public speaking, newspaper, and television interviews, as well as her personal web page.  At the age of 11, she committed to raise $20,000 for ASAP before graduating high school - she has now raised over $19,000 and has decided to increase her goal!


Shining Star Volunteer

Awarded to those volunteers whose continuous efforts go above and beyond.  You’re a shining example of volunteerism at its best!  The 2009 recipients are:


Christine Marchesano

Christine is active in a local support group, has organized multiple fundraisers (spaghetti dinner and walk for a cure) as well as worked toward securing a proclamation for Chiari Day in the state of New Jersey.

Hope Patterson

Kids For A Cure Club member, Hope has been active in promoting awareness for SM and CM for several years.  She has organized and participated in many fundraisers as well as promoted awareness in her community.


Visionary Award

Given to those volunteers who are committed to furthering the goals of ASAP by donating their time and talents to keep ASAP moving forward.  The 2009 recipients are:
