The Sixth Annual Race for a
Cure was held on Sunday, September 16 at the Arlington Park Race Course in Arlington Heights,
Illinois. This years hosts were the Farrell, Kindlon, Mikula, OConnor and Watson families
who were joined by over 200 friends and supporters for an afternoon of fun. Attendees enjoyed
a scrumptious lunch buffet along with a silent and live auction with items such as autographed
sports memorabilia, jewelry and trips.
Bobby Jones Society awards were presented to Leo and Debbie Deiger, Dick and Kate
Groseclose, Joseph and Bess Kindlon, and Michael and Denise Mikula in recognition of the perpetuation
of the philanthropic legacy of Bobby Jones. Thank you to these families for your continued generosity
and support.
Thank you to event sponsors: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kindlon, Mr. and Mrs. William Barry,
Mr. Donovan Ching, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Curtiss, First DuPage Bank, Mr. and Mrs. Will Gillett and Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Pierson for helping to make this event possible.
A moving dedication and candle lighting ceremony was held in memory of Joseph Kindlon
and Dr. Marcy Speer. These two special people will always hold a place in the hearts of the entire
ASAP family and their legacies will live on in the hearts of those who love them. They will be sorely
missed.
Thank you to all those who were in attendance or supported the event with donations. We all look forward to the
Seventh Annual Race for a Cure. See you next year!
